Nomex® by DuPont™

Nomex® never quits when everything’s on the line.

Nomex® provides lightweight, heat and flame-resistant performance for many applications.

There is no “next time.” There is no “can’t do that.” Not when the stakes are so high. Not when so much depends on it. There’s more than one reason why so many depend on Nomex®. Inherently flame resistant, Nomex® is three times stronger and offers twice the heat performance versus competitors. Nomex® empowers endless possibilities, from design to testing to commercial availability. If our scientists can help firefighters enter a burning building and an aircraft fly non-stop from NYC to Hong Kong, we can help your company tackle the toughest challenges.

Nomex® delivers reliable performance for increased confidence in the face of many dangerous conditions. Built on a 50-year track record, Nomex® provides proven, lightweight and durable solutions for a range of applications and industries. From keeping people safe while drilling beneath the earth’s core to rocketing into space, Nomex® has helped pioneer new frontiers and tackle what was once considered impossible.

Nomex®. NEVER QUIT™.

Uses & Applications

Fire Protection

In the face of these hazards Nomex® forms a tough, protective char, staying supple until it cools. What’s more, Nomex® won’t melt or drip, unlike other fabrics that degrade and add the risk of melted material to the burn trauma.

Safety for Oil & Gas Industry

In the oil & gas industry, workers face harsh conditions and serious hazards that are far less common in other industries. Oil & Gas industry workers must always be prepared for the worst-case scenario.

Dry Type Transformer Insulation

Nomex® has been the material of choice for dry type transformer insulation. That’s because Nomex® brand insulation helps provide proven performance and enhanced safety.

Stretchable Fabrics

Unlike other stretch fabrics for apparels, ARMORTEX® Stretchable Fabrics are specifically designed for the demand for high abrasion resistance. High elasticity, high elongation, and soft in touch. Can be treated for DWR (Durable water repellent), oil repellent, and antifouling. Suitable for applications such as sports protective gear, gloves, bike saddle, workwear, etc.

Anti-Cut Fabric

ARMORTEX® cut resistant fabrics provide excellent cut protection against sharp or jagged objects. Blended with different functional yarns and weaving technology, our cut resistant materials are available in a variety of structure, processing, and weights. The fabrics are compliant with both European EN 388 and American ANSI standard for cut resistant capability for hand protection

Anti-Slip Fabrics

Compliant With ASTM D3886, Kevlar® reinforced anti-slip material is the combination of our ARMORTEX® abrasion resistant fabric and a durable anti-slip layer making the material a highly slip resistant, abrasion resistant, and burst resistant fabric. Made with environmentally-friendly materials, our regular anti-slip fabrics are soft, highly slip-resistant, and can be offered in various embossments and colours. Depending on the end application and customer requirements, extra features such as flame retardant, cut resistant, or puncture resistant can be developed.

Reflective Fabrics

ARMORTEX® Reflective fabrics are designed by incorporating reflective yarns during the weaving process creating the reflective effect on the fabric surface. We provide the option of 3M reflective yarn or non-branded reflective yarn, both of which can maintain great reflective effect after multiple times of washing. ARMORTEX® Reflective fabrics are often applied on garments to increase visibility in the dark for personal safety. Depending on customers’ needs, some common applications of our reflective fabrics include sports jacket, work wear, uniforms for public safety, footwear, baggage, safety gloves, etc.
